International Yoga Day 21.06.2016/World Yoga Day 21.06.2016/2nd International Day of Yoga will be celebrated all over India, USA, UK, Australia and other parts of the world. International Yoga Day will be celebrated on the 21st June 2016 in all parts of India. Prime Minister Sri. Narendra Modi will likely participate in The National Event of Mass Yoga Demonstration on the eve of  World Yoga Day in Chandigarh. Several union ministers will participate in International Yoga Day Celebrations across India.

On 11th December 2014, India has introduced the draft resolution in United Nations General Assembly. The draft text received broad support from 177 Member States who adopted the text without a vote. This initiative found support from many global leaders. A total of 175 nations co-sponsored the resolution and had the highest number of co-sponsors ever for any UNGA Resolution of such nature.

The first International Day of Yoga was observed world over on June 21, 2015. About 35,985 people, including Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi and a large number of dignitaries from 84 various countries have performed 21 Yoga Asanas (postures) for 35 minutes. International Yoga Day is being celebrated in about 170 countries tomorrow.

What is Yoga?

Yoga is essentially a spiritual discipline based on an extremely subtle science which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is an art and science for healthy living. “Yoga” also refers to an inner science comprising of a variety of methods through which human beings can achieve union between the body and mind to attain self-realization. The aim of Yoga practice (sādhana) is to overcome all kinds of sufferings that lead to a sense of
freedom in every walk of life with holistic health, happiness and harmony.
