BONALU Holiday on 17.07.2017

BONALU Holiday 2017/Bonalu Public Holiday/Bonalu Festival General Holiday is declared on 17.07.2017 instead of 10.07.2017 as per G.O Rt.No.1476. Earlier, Govt of Telangana has declared Bonalu Holiday/Bonalu General Holiday on the 10th July 2017. Bonalu Festival is celebrated by people of Telangana every year. Bonalu and Bathukamma Festivals are very popular in Telangana.

ORDER:
In the G.O. 1st read above, Government have issued orders declaring 10.07.2017 (Monday) as General Holiday on the occasion of Bonalu Festival.
2) Government, after careful consideration of the matter, have decided to change the General Holiday on the occasion of Bonalu to 17.07.2017 (Monday) instead of 10.07.2017 (Monday). Accordingly, the following notification is issued and shall be published in the extra-ordinary Gazette of Telangana State:




NOTIFICATION
In partial modification of the orders issued in G.O.Rt.No.2529, General Administration (Spl.E) Department, dt.22.11.2016, notifying the General Holidays and Optional Holidays, the Government hereby declare 17.07.2017 as General Holiday on the occasion of ‘BONALU’, instead of 10.07.2017 (Monday), declared earlier. As a result, 10.07.2017 will be observed as a working day.

BONALU Holiday on 17.07.2017 Telangana Govt G.O.Rt.No.1476Bonalu Festival is celebrated in various parts of Telangana and in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. On the first Sunday of Aashadham, Bonalu celebrations are held at the temple at Golconda Fort. On the second Sunday, these celebrations will begin at Balkampet Yellamma temple in Balkampet and Ujjaini Mahakali Temple in Secunderabad. On third Sunday, celebrations will be held at The pochamma temple and katta maisamma temple of chilkalguda and the Matheswari temple of Lal Darwaza in Old City of Hyderabad.
